EXUBERANCE is a platform that brings together creative, energetic, and intellectual talent from across the city. Its the Annual Inter-Collegiate Fest of SFIMAR. An exciting and happening management, cultural, and sports festival hosted at the borivali campus.
Fourth Edition of Foundation of Equity Trading and Investments was held on 20th and 22nd Jan, 2019 for MMS ,PGDM AND part time students. 56 students have undergone the said Programme. There was a two day training course of certification conducted by ICICI along with NISM at SFIMAR. The training was divided into 2 parts: The first part consisting of theory that was on 20thand the second part was the practical session that was on 22nd. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Sachin Jain who provided a lot of information to us through the knowledge that he gained all these years through his experience.
The training concluded by a quick revision session about the topics covered in these 2 days which was followed by the assessment. Overall it was an insightful and knowledgeable training.
DIV B (MMS)
Alumni Connect I, for the A.Y. 2018-19 was held on Saturday Oct. 19th, 2018.
The objective of this event "Alumni Connect" is to impart guidance by senior Alumni to the 1st year students on the choice of specialization and clarify their doubts if any, related to the various profiles in the industry. The alumni members also share the insight on skill set required and various profiles available in the industry for summer Internships.This alumnus connect program for 1st year students has been introduced from this academic year.
This is a mentoring session and Alumni give them an overview about the job profile and skill set required by the industry.
Procedure:It is conducted for all the 1st year students of MMS & PGDM together in the auditorium. The experienced and identified alumni members are invited Specialization wise. The alumni members share their experience and guide the students on the choice of specialization. Student registration was taken well in advance. Students were encouraged to participate in this activity after seeing less registrations. Attendance was 95 %. Students were informed much prior about this event and were encouraged to attend.

Eminent Speaker Series 2018 was held on 29th September and 6ht October 2018.
On 29/09/2018 the session speaker was Mr. YogeshUdgire, Founder of The Institute of Digital Marketing India and Executive Director at Surekh Services Pvt. Ltd., who discussed on ‘Role of Digital Technology on New Product Development and Business Transformation’, and on 06/10/2018 the session speaker was Mr. Ashok Bhansali, Ed-Tech and Blockchain enthusiast, Head of vertical and financial advisor, New Jersey, Aicumen Technologies Inc., who discussed on ‘Blockchain & Paradigm Shift in Digital Technology’.
Many students from various other colleges took part in the programme.
In order to give due recognition to the inquisitiveness and creativity of students, SFIMAR is organizing ANVESHI - a National Level Paper Presentation Competition on 1st Feb 2019.
The coordinators of Malay Club this year decided to organize “ART OF RANGOLI” competition cum exhibition on 15th October 2019. This event was conducted to inculcate team spirit among each group taking part and to see how well the students co-ordinate with each other, and come up with new, innovative and creative ideas within a time span of one hour. 16 groups participated in this competition. The only criteria for the students was that they could use any material, except rangoli colours, and colours related to spices. The competition was held in our chess area from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. During the ongoing event our Director Dr. D. Henry, Chairman Bro. Alphonse Nesamony and some of our professors attended the event to see the efforts and the talent portrayed by the participants.Winners were awarded with cash prize and gifts by Director and Chairman of the Institute. Prof. Smita and Ms. Navika judged all the groups based on the creativity, message conveyed and the presentation & display as mentioned in the rules.
Out of the 16 groups, three groups got the highest marks based on the judgement parameters. The winners were declared on the very same day. The first prize was awarded to Shalkey M Fernandes, Vrushali V Rahate, Riya R Singh (MMS-1), the second prize was awarded to Alwin Shaji, Jason Dsouza, Farina Dsouza, Kavita Naik (MMS-2) and the consolation prize was awarded to Nandani Gupta, Nisha Merai, Ragini Gulhane, Khusbhoo Jain (PGDM-1).
The event was a success. All the groups came up with different innovative and creative ideas. Plus these students by participating in this event took a step further in showing their creativity and presentation skills. This event helped the students to work with great level of coordination among the team members with a winning spirit and also showcasing their inbuilt talent. This ultimately accomplished the Malay Club’s motive.
On the pious occasion of “Navratri”, students of SFIMAR arranged a Dandiya Night on 11th Oct. 2019 in the campus. With the beat of Dandiya sticks and Melody Tunes from the DJ, the campus shimmered in the glorious celebration. The décor gelled very well with the impeccably attired students and the traditional Gujarati ambiance of the venue. The crowd grooved and moved along to several electrifying Bollywood numbers, Gujarati and popular songs throughout the evening.
The celebration ended with a prize distribution ceremony wherein the Best Traditionally Dressed Participant (Male/Female), Best Dancer(Male/Female), Best Dancer Jodi and the Best Non-Stop Performer of the evening from students, were felicitated by Dr. Natika Poddar, MFM/MMM Programme Head and Prof. Shilpa Peswani, MMS Academic Coordinator at SFIMAR. All the students as well as all faculty members participated actively in the celebration & filled the environment with immense zeal & enthusiasm.
SFIMAR organized Induction for its 18th Batch of MMS Programme (Batch 2019-2021).
Induction programme is an initiative to welcome the students and make them acquainted with the culture of the institution. The objective of the programme was to ensure that every student gets comfortable, feels welcomed, engaged and excited to begin this new important phase of their life.
The programme started with the “SFIMAR Anthem” followed by Lighting of the Lamp. Dr. G Ramesh (MMS-Programme Head) delivered the inaugural address, congratulated and welcomed students on being part of SFIMAR Family. Bro. Alphonse Nesamony (Chairman-SFIMAR) in his address to students emphasized on value-based learning and being passionate about their goals and interests. Dr. D.Henry (Director, SFIMAR) guided the students to reform, perform and transform their personality to take up future Corporate Responsibilities. Shri Augustine Kurias, executive council member of SFIMAR gave an inspiring motivational talk which was followed by a very stimulating and thought provoking address. The Chief Guest of the Programme Shri. Sunil Nair (Director-HR, SS&C Globe Op) shared his words of wisdom for the new budding managers. Rev. Bro. Mathew Thekkemury (Asst. Superior General, CMSF) mentioned about the importance of discipline in personal and professional life by sharing his experiences with students.
An Insignia of the SFIMAR Rocket was launched formally by the dignitaries during the programme and distributed to all present at the venue. The Programme Inductor Dr. Narayan Iyer (CEO, IDF) conducted an interactive and activity based session to enlighten the students about the various qualities they need to inculcate in themselves in order to become competent Manager. Lastly,on behalf of SFIMAR Prof. Shilpa (MMS- Academic Coordinator) expressed her gratitude towards all the organizing members, Dignitaries and guests, Speaker and students to make this event grand and successful.
MMS I students of SFIMAR went for Industrial Visit from 8th to 10th November 2019 to Pune-Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani. Companies visited—Atul Overseas, Vulcan Tech., Mapro Garden and Brintons Carpet Asia Pvt. Ltd. 110 students got the experience of the functioning of these firms. Trekking, sightseeing, and the DJ nite added to the overall experience and made the trip a memorable one.
