Graduation Day and Luminance - 16th Annual Day Celebration

The Graduation day and Annual day (LUMINANCE 2018) was truly a momentous occasion on an unprecedented scale for ST.FRANCIS INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH (SFIMAR), BORIVALI (W). The Graduation day and Annual day celebrations was jointly held on Saturday, 10th March, 2018 for the first time in history of SFIMAR.

The Chief Guest for the day was Dr.Sunil Rai, Vice -chancellor at MIT-ADT UNIVERSITY, PUNE. The Graduation day began with a majestic and grand academic procession followed by the ceremonial lighting of lamp, welcome dance and SFIMAR anthem, which were notably impressive.

The formal function began with a welcome speech by Chairman, SFIMAR Bro. Alphonse Nesamony and felicitation of dignitaries. The Chief Guest Dr.Sunil Rai was introduced by Dr. G. Ramesh, MMS Programme head. Dr. Sunil Rai gave an accentuating speech during his Chief Guest address. Dr Sunil Rai speech was not only an inspiration for all the graduates but also left a strong message to them. Dr Sunil Rai emphasised the students on being happy, valuable and independent and also wished them to reach higher goals. The highlight of the graduation day was the Degree /Diploma certificates distribution ceremony to the eligible and passed out batch 2015-17 of MMS/PGDM and 2014-17 of MFM/MMM Programme students. This was followed by the valedictorian’s speech of the toppers of all the three programmes namely Ms Anthea Pereira of MMS, Ms Melisha Rodrigues of PGDM and Mr Rohit Jha of MFM/MMM.

The Annual day program commenced with a formal presentation by SFIMAR Director Dr. S. S. Mohanty of the Annual report. Dr S.S. Mohanty touched upon the infrastructure developments in the Institute, various academic achievements of SFIMAR faculty members and students during the academic year 2017-2018and the future road map for SFIMAR.

The highlight of the annual day celebrations was the theme ‘TIME TRAVEL’ which was aptly synchronised by a mesmerising display of cultural extravaganza by the students of MFM/MMM, MMS and PGDM. The prestigious function and the scintillating performances by the students was witnessed by more than 700 people. The annual day program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Natika Poddar, Programme Head, MFM/MMM. All the students, guests, faculty members and staff were treated to an evening of delicious food as the programme ended with a very positive and successful note.

EXUBERANCE is therefore a platform to bring together creative, energetic, and intellectual talent from across the length and breadth of the financial capital of India, i.e. Mumbai.

Anveshi 2018

In order to give due recognition to the inquisitiveness and creativity of students, SFIMAR is organizing ANVESHI - a National Level Paper Presentation Competition on 9th Feb 2018.

Synergy 2017

The day was 18th November, 2017 the 75thheavenly anniversary of Bro. Paulus Mortiz (1869-1942) founder of Congregation of the Missionary Brothers of St. Francis of Assisi (CMSF).

Malay club - Crib competition

On Wednesday 6th of December 2017, Malay Club had organized a “Crib Making Competition”.There were nine teams that had participated.

Mindfulness Center

Mr. Augustine Kurias conducted a session of ‘Self Awareness’ for the students of MMS 1 during their Induction program. It motivated the students to overcome their fears and aim for higher goals in life. Mindfulness Center organized a session of Brahmakumaris on ‘Business Ethics’. Mr. Mahendra Kapadia spoke about the basic values that drive a good life and form a basis of ethical life and work culture.

On 4th November 2017, Ms. Judy Johnson was invited to conduct a session on ‘Self Awareness’. Sister Judy Johnson is active in the field of experiential learning, leadership development and organizational effectiveness for 35 years. She studies Raja Yoga meditation and currently coordinates the activities of the Brahma Kumaris meditation centre in Halifax, Canada. Her session was well accepted and appreciated by the participants

SOCH 2017

'SOCH' is an initiative to spread awareness about Mental Health. SOCH was conceptualized in 2014 by 'Lookwithin Group'. The founder of Lookwithin group Ms. Aditi Nadkarni is associate with our Institute as a student counselor from last two year.

In 'SOCH 2017' Ms. Aditi Nadkarni explains Importance of therapy to all. A talk on 'DEPRESSION& SUICIDE PREVENTION' was delivered by AASRA Foundation. Talk on 'DE-ADDICTION' was Delivered by Dr. Gambhire (M.D. Psychiatry). A STREET PLAY was also performed by SFIMAR Students to show importance of counselor to come out of the depression.
